Arts Table began three years ago at a kitchen table in a small terraced house in Norwich, with a simple belief: every child deserves time dedicated to exploring the arts.
We believe children and adults alike thrive through creativity, and we want to build a community where children, adults and families can connect. Today we're a Community Interest Company running art groups across NR3 — bringing creativity to our community, one table at a time.

About us
Our story
Arts Table started in the most humble way imaginable — around a kitchen table in a small terraced house in Norwich, three years ago. What began as a handful of children painting, making and creating together quickly showed us something important: when children are given the space, time and freedom to express themselves through art, they thrive.
Word spread, the table got fuller, and Arts Table soon outgrew the kitchen. We moved into our local community centre, wrote a constitution, and formed the Arts Table Association — a community group run by volunteers who shared our belief that the arts should be for everyone.
In 2026, we took our biggest step yet: Arts Table became Arts Table Norwich Community Interest Company. As a CIC, we exist entirely for the benefit of our community — every penny we make is reinvested back into bringing creative opportunities to Norwich.
What we do
Today, Arts Table runs a growing range of creative activities, including community art groups, a drama group, an in-school art club, community exhibitions and pop-up events across NR3 — and we even took part in the Lord Mayor's procession in the summer of 2025. There are always more projects in the pipeline.

Meet the directors
Chloe Laurie
Director
Chloe is all about community. She has spent her career working within the local community, and is passionate about the arts as a way to express ourselves and connect with one another. A committed ambassador for mental health, Chloe believes in creating opportunities to talk openly about the topics that matter.
Abigail Taylor
Founder & Director
Abigail began her career as a creative arts therapist and dramatherapist, and has worked with children across many different settings. She has seen first-hand how children truly thrive through the creative arts. Abigail is also a firm believer in community — bringing diverse people and families together. In a world of screens, social media and AI, she believes real connection matters more than ever.

After your free taster, all clubs cost just £2.00 per session. Children's art clubs run term time only. When a club is full, its booking form will close and let you know, so please try again the following half term or get in touch to join the waiting list.

A lively after-school club full of painting, making and creating. Limited spaces available.
Children must stay with a parent, carer or nominated adult throughout the session.

Fun, sensory play through art for our youngest artists, ages 1–4. Grown-ups stay and play too.

North city venue — to be confirmed
A lovely adult group welcoming adults in the north city area, focusing on wellbeing and promoting community and connection through the arts.
Where to find us: our children's clubs all run at Mary Magdalen Church Hall, Silver Road, Norwich NR3 4TF (open in maps). The venue for our new Adult Art Club is still being confirmed — it will be in the north of the city, and we'll announce it here as soon as it's booked.
Staying with your child: our Monday and Thursday art clubs are not drop-off sessions. Every child must be accompanied and supervised by a parent, carer or nominated adult for the whole session.
How booking works: families book and pay in advance for each half term, and re-sign-up at the start of the next one. If you have any questions, email us at artstable2023@gmail.com.
For schools
In-school art clubs
We bring the Arts Table experience directly into schools, running art clubs that give children dedicated time and space to create during the school day or after school.
Our in-school clubs help fund our community work — so when a school partners with us, they're also helping to keep our community clubs affordable for local families.

Work with us
Arts Table Norwich is growing, and we'd love your help. Whether you can offer professional skills on our board or a couple of hours at a club, there's a place for you at the table.
Become our third Director
We're looking for a third Director to join our board and help shape the future of community arts in Norwich. We're a small but ambitious organisation running creative groups for children, toddlers and adults across the NR3 area — and as we grow, we need someone who can bring strategic thinking to our leadership team.
We're especially keen to hear from people with…
- A background in arts education, or
- Administrative experience, or
- Accounting, bookkeeping or finance skills
- Knowledge of the grants landscape is a bonus too
What you'll be doing
- Helping guide the strategic direction of the Community Interest Company
- Supporting governance, decision-making and reporting
- Bringing your professional skills to a small, friendly board
- Helping us stay sustainable and grow our reach in the community
- Board or committee experience is a bonus — but not essential. We value enthusiasm and the right skill set just as much

We run a creative, welcoming arts club for children in the community — and we're looking for volunteers to join our team!
What you'll be doing
- Supporting children in creative sessions — painting, crafts and other art activities
- Helping set up and pack away sessions
- Encouraging children's creativity and confidence in a fun, relaxed environment
Who we'd love to hear from
- Anyone with an arts background — or anyone keen to develop arts skills
- People with experience working with children (preferred but not essential)
- Most importantly: people who are passionate about community arts
- A DBS check is required — we'll arrange one for you before you start if you don't already have one
- Training and support will be provided
- No formal qualifications needed — just enthusiasm, reliability and a love of creativity

We're launching a brand-new Toddler Arts Club, and we need lovely, enthusiastic volunteers to help us get it off the ground.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting sensory and creative art activities for toddlers and pre-schoolers
- Helping create a safe, fun and stimulating environment for our youngest artists
- Assisting parents, carers and little ones during sessions
Who we'd love to hear from
- People with experience of working with young pre-school-age children (preferred but not essential)
- Anyone with an arts background or an interest in early years creativity
- Above all: people who are warm, patient and passionate about community arts
- A DBS check and paediatric first aid certificate are desirable, but not essential to apply
- We'll arrange both for successful volunteers before the toddler group begins
- Full training and support provided

Your support helps pay for art materials, hall hire and everything that keeps our clubs affordable at just £2.00 a session, so that creativity stays within reach for children, adults and families across Norwich.

Our free mini gallery is a little space with a big idea: art for everyone. Children, local artists and neighbours are all welcome to come and enjoy the artwork on show, share a piece of their own for someone else to find, and take home a piece that catches their eye — completely free.
